Hay Shed Hill is one of the pioneering vineyards that helped establish Margaret River as a world-class wine region. Located in the Wilyabrup Valley, the estate is known for its single-vineyard wines that showcase the unique characteristics of its hilly terrain and proximity to the Indian Ocean. Dry-grown vines, first planted in the 1970s, produce outstanding Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with a selection of alternative varieties. The winemaking team, led by Michael Kerrigan, focuses on producing wines that truly express the quality of this exceptional site.
Originally a group settlement farm, Hay Shed Hill has undergone several transformations over the years while maintaining its commitment to integrity and quality. Today, it remains privately owned by a small group of winemakers and grape growers dedicated to elevating the brand to icon status in Margaret River.
Hay Shed Hill offers a welcoming and relaxed tasting experience in its Margaret River cellar door. Seated wine tastings allow guests to enjoy a curated selection of wines, with a strong focus on Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Visitors can also explore a variety of alternative styles that highlight the region’s diversity.
For a more immersive experience, guests can take part in the Wine Blending Experience, where they will create their own custom Cabernet blend using traditional Bordeaux varieties. Other options include a Wine & Chocolate Pairing featuring locally crafted dark chocolate, or a tasting "Under the Tree," offering stunning vineyard views in a peaceful setting.
