Ngeringa is a pioneering biodynamic winery in the Adelaide Hills, producing wines that express the harmony between nature and viticulture. The estate, located in Mount Barker Summit, was once part of the renowned Jurlique herb farm and has been certified biodynamic for over 20 years. Every aspect of Ngeringa’s winegrowing follows ecological principles, from compost-enriched soils to natural vineyard management.
The estate’s vineyards—The Summit, The Rufus, and The Iluma—yield a selection of cool-climate varietals, including Syrah, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Sangiovese. With a focus on small-batch winemaking, each wine reflects its place of origin, crafted with minimal intervention to highlight purity, finesse, and balance.
Nestled among vineyards and biodynamic vegetable fields, the Ngeringa Cellar Door offers an intimate and immersive tasting experience. Visitors can explore the estate’s wines through guided tastings featuring selections from the Sheoak, Single Vineyard, and Small Batch ranges, with wines available by the glass or bottle to enjoy onsite.
For a deeper experience, the ‘Vine-to-Glass’ tour runs on Fridays and Sundays, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the Summit Vineyard, followed by a guided tasting and a selection of seasonal bites from the biodynamic farm. The Cellar Door also offers light share plates that change with the seasons, featuring estate-grown produce.
You can expect the following from a tasting at Ngeringa:
