Lockwood Vineyard, a boutique-style wine producer run by a dedicated family, is nestled in the heart of the Hilltops region near Young, NSW. Since its inception in 2004, Lockwood Vineyard has been committed to producing award-winning wines that are supplied throughout the Hilltops and beyond. Their wines, celebrated for their quality, are available at various local outlets including the Hilltops Regional Wine Cellar, The Young and Region Farmers’ Market, and across Hilltops' restaurants and hotels. Lockwood Vineyard also participates in local Farmers Markets, offering regular wine tastings to showcase their products.
The vineyard's history dates back to 1996 with the planting of the first Cabernet Sauvignon vines, followed by expansions in 1998 and 2000. Over the years, Lockwood has added varieties like Chardonnay, Viognier, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Tempranillo. The grapes are handpicked and processed using traditional European methods, including a small crusher/destemmer and basket press.
The vineyard at Lockwood is sited 5km north of Young, NSW, on 10 acres of north-facing, sloping terrain with deep red clay, loamy soil. This ideal soil and the Hilltops climate create perfect conditions for growing quality grapes.The range of wines produced at Lockwood includes Chardonnay, Viognier, Shiraz-Viognier, Viognier, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Tempranillo, Shiraz-Cabernet, a 'Blush' rose, as well as Cherry and Apricot Liqueurs.
