First Creek Wines, located in the Hunter Valley, is operated by the Silkman family. Founded in 1998, the winery has developed a reputation for producing a diverse array of wines, including notable Chardonnay and Shiraz varieties. The vineyard takes its name from the adjacent First Creek, which provides essential water to this and other local vineyards, influencing the quality and sustainability of their viticulture.
Liz Silkman, the winemaker, brings a unique touch to these classic styles, not only to her own brand of First Creek, but she is also the winemaker for a number of other wineries winery labels when she's not focusing on First Creek's own brand wines.
The Cellar Door at First Creek Wines offers visitors a chance to explore their wine range through guided tastings available seven days a week. The cellar door experience includes options for guests to observe the winemaking process from a designated viewing area or to enjoy the outdoor settings. These experiences aim to educate visitors on the winemaking process and the characteristics of the wines produced at First Creek.
