CRFT Wines is a boutique winery in the Adelaide Hills, producing small-batch, single-vineyard wines that highlight the diversity of South Australia's wine regions. Winemakers Candice Helbig and Frewin Ries are dedicated to minimal intervention winemaking, allowing the unique characteristics of each vineyard to shine. With a focus on Pinot Noir, Grüner Veltliner, and Chardonnay from their organic Arranmore Vineyard, they also craft wines from select sites in the Barossa Valley, including Mencía and Shiraz.
Committed to sustainability, CRFT Wines follows organic farming principles, with their Arranmore and Fraser Park vineyards certified organic. Every wine is made to express its place of origin, with fermentation driven by wild yeasts and gentle handling throughout the winemaking process. The result is a collection of elegant, site-driven wines that capture the essence of their terroir.
CRFT Wines' tasting room is set within a charmingly rustic, converted shearing shed and stables, offering a relaxed and intimate setting in the Adelaide Hills. Overlooking the organic Arranmore Vineyard, guests can enjoy wine flights or a glass of wine alongside a local produce grazing plate. Whether seated by the roaring stone fireplace in winter or at the sunny terrace bar in warmer months, the cellar door provides a welcoming atmosphere for discovering the winery’s single-vineyard expressions.
The tasting experience includes wines from both the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley, with knowledgeable hosts guiding visitors through the story of each vineyard and vintage. With great music always playing and a focus on laid-back hospitality, CRFT Wines offers a truly enjoyable escape into the world of organic and small-batch winemaking.
You can expect the following from a tasting at Crft:
Bookings are recommended for all tasting experiences, particularly for groups of six or more, to ensure a table in the intimate tasting space. Wine flights are available for smaller groups, while larger groups can opt for a tasting or wine by the glass or bottle. Walk-ins are welcome when space allows, and guests are encouraged to book in advance to secure their preferred time. The cellar door does not accept licensed buses, birthday parties, or hen’s and buck’s events.
