Turkey Flat is a historic winery in the Barossa Valley, with vineyards dating back to 1847. Originally established by early Prussian settlers, the site has been carefully nurtured through generations and remains family-owned today. Best known for its old-vine Shiraz, Grenache, and Rhône varietals, the winery continues to embrace traditional winemaking techniques while incorporating sustainable vineyard practices to maintain the health of its land.

Turkey Flat’s Cellar Door is housed in a beautifully restored bluestone building, once the Schulz family butcher shop. The welcoming space offers visitors a chance to taste their wines in a relaxed and rustic setting, with the option to sit indoors by the fireplace or outside in the gardens. Wine flights and tasting experiences showcase both current releases and back-vintage wines, giving guests an insight into the depth and evolution of Turkey Flat’s winemaking.
To enhance the experience, the Cellar Door also offers a selection of platter-style foods, featuring local Barossa produce. Families and pets are welcome, with lawn games available to enjoy alongside a bottle of wine in the garden. Bookings are required for groups of six or more, as well as for guided tasting experiences such as the ‘Taste of Turkey Flat’ flight, which pairs current release and back-vintage wines with a cheese platter. Guests can also enjoy a standard wine flight with a selection of five wines. For those looking to spend more time at the winery, a leisurely visit with food and wine in the gardens is also an option.
