Sutton Forest Estate Wines, a second-generation family-owned winery in the Southern Highlands, draws on its Italian heritage to craft wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. Owned by the Lo Russo family for over 26 years, the winery combines traditional grape-growing techniques with the cool climate and rich soils of Sutton Forest. The name pays homage to the historic Sutton Forest Village, a settlement established in the 1820s, connecting the winery to the area's history.
Founded in 2002 by Nick and Santina Lo Russo, in collaboration with viticulturist Darren Corradi, the vineyard focuses on producing cool-climate wines with an emphasis on quality. Hand-pruned and hand-picked grapes are central to their process, ensuring that the wines express the care and attention that define Sutton Forest Estate Wines.
The Cellar Door at Sutton Forest Estate Wines provides visitors with an opportunity to explore Italian-inspired wines crafted in the Southern Highlands. Open from Friday to Sunday, the Cellar Door offers tastings of their boutique wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Chianti-style reds. Light meals are also available, such as antipasto platters, focaccia, and desserts like cakes and gelato, complementing the wine tasting experience. Guests are encouraged to inquire in advance, especially when visiting in groups, to ensure availability and a relaxed experience.
