Corang Estate, founded in 2002, is located on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range in the Southern Tablelands of NSW. At an elevation of 600-700 metres, the estate spans 120 acres, featuring a landscape rich with native wildlife and bordered by the Corang River. This setting not only inspires Corang Estate’s approach to viticulture but also enriches the natural beauty of the vineyard.
Owners Jill and Michael Bynon have cultivated Corang Estate with a focus on minimal intervention and environmental sustainability. Their journey began with a vision to utilise the unique climatic conditions and stony soils of Southern NSW. The vineyard, predominantly planted with Shiraz and Tempranillo, benefits from the diverse ecosystem and the natural advantages provided by its location, aiming to produce wines that are expressive of their terroir.
The Corang Estate Cellar Door & Pantry, offers a gateway to the estate’s wines and the local gastronomy. Open on weekends and select weekdays, visitors can experience the estate-grown Shiraz and Tempranillo, along with selections from other prominent Southern Tablelands regions like Tumbarumba and Hilltops. The cellar door enhances its wine tasting with a seasonal menu and the option to create custom gourmet picnic platters from a variety of local produce, including cheeses, cured meats, and artisanal dips.
Corang Estate is committed to sustainability, employing practices such as solar power and integrating livestock to manage vineyard grounds naturally. This approach not only aligns with their environmental values but also enriches the vineyard’s ecosystem, promoting a natural cycle of growth and renewal.
