Corang Estate Vineyard, founded in 2018, is located on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range in the Southern Tablelands of NSW. At an elevation of 600-700 metres, the total property spans 120 acres, featuring a landscape rich with native wildlife and bordered by the Corang River. This setting not only inspires Corang Estate’s approach to viticulture but also enriches the natural beauty of the 1ha vineyard.
Owners Jill and Michael Bynon have cultivated Corang Estate with a focus on minimal intervention and environmental sustainability, employing practices such as solar power and integrating livestock to manage vineyard grounds naturally. This approach not only aligns with their environmental values but also enriches the vineyard’s ecosystem, promoting a natural cycle of growth and renewal.
Their journey began with a vision to capture the very best of Southern NSW wine, which includes Shiraz and Tempranillo, grown at Corang Estate, and also small parcels of fruit sourced from the best vineyards across the Southern Tablelands. All the wines are made in Murrumbateman, in the heart of the Canberra District.
The Corang Estate Cellar Door & Pantry in the nearby village of Tarago, offers a gateway to the estate’s wines and the local gastronomy. Open on weekends and select weekdays, visitors can experience a selection of multi award winning wines. The cellar door enhances its wine tasting with the option to create custom gourmet mezze platters from a variety of local produce, including cheeses, cured meats, and artisanal dips.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy a relaxed tasting experience indoors or outdoors, with provisions for pet-friendly outdoor seating. The location also features a broad pantry range with local and regional products including jams, sauces, honey, olives and more.
