Brangayne of Orange is a boutique winery located in the Orange wine region, known for its cool-climate wines. Established in 1994, the vineyard sits on the northeastern slopes of Mount Canobolas, benefiting from a climate that supports the production of balanced and expressive wines. The winery produces a range of varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc.
Brangayne is operated by the Hoskins family, who transitioned from orchard farming to winemaking in 1994. The vineyard's development was guided by viticulturist Dr. Richard Smart, and today, it is managed by David Hoskins. The family remains focused on producing wines that reflect the characteristics of the Orange region.
Brangayne’s Cellar Door offers a relaxed setting for wine tasting in a space that reflects the vineyard’s history. Housed in a former orchard coolstore, the venue features tables made from timber and oak barrels sourced from the property. Visitors can enjoy views of the surrounding area while sampling a selection of wines in a quiet and informal environment.
The Cellar Door experience includes a tasting of 10 wines over a 45-minute session, providing an opportunity to explore Brangayne’s range. The focus is on creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere, and while food is not offered, the tasting provides insight into the vineyard’s approach to winemaking.
