Brangayne Of Orange is a distinguished boutique winery in the Orange wine region, renowned for its premium cool climate wines. Established in 1994, Brangayne stands out in the Central West NSW for its commitment to producing distinctive wines that reflect the unique terroir of the area. The winery's creators, Simon Gilbert and Will Gilbert, skillfully craft a range of wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc, amongst others.
Located on the northeastern slopes of the extinct volcano Mount Canobolas, Brangayne benefits from the region's cool climate, ideal for the production of wines with intense flavor, acid, and elegance. The winery's history is deeply rooted in the Hoskins Family, who transitioned from orchard farming to viticulture in 1994, guided by Dr. Richard Smart. Today, the vineyard is managed by David Hoskins, continuing the family legacy.
Visiting the Cellar Door at Brangayne is a journey through history and craftsmanship. The rustic setting, located in an old orchard coolstore, exudes a strong sense of multi-generational history, enhanced by handcrafted tables made from timber and oak barrels from the property. This intimate atmosphere is complemented by the breathtaking scenic views of the surrounding area.
Brangayne offers an array of 10 wines for tasting, including their renowned varieties, which can be savoured over a 45-minute visit. The cellar door team, akin to family, ensures a warm and personalised experience for each visitor. However, it is important to note that bookings are essential, especially on weekends when sessions commence on the hour. A $10 tasting fee per person is applied, which is waived upon the purchase of wine. Please be aware that Brangayne does not offer any food options during the tasting.
