Angullong, a family-owned winery, located in the high elevation, cool climate wine region of Orange in New South Wales. Established in 1998, the vineyard spreads over 220 hectares in the dramatic landscapes at the foothills of Mount Canobolas, an ancient volcano. This terrain, from undulating to steep hills, adorned with spectacular limestone escarpments, descends to the Belubula River, contributing to Angullong's unique terroir.
The vineyard's history intertwines with the Crossing family, who have been custodians of this land since 1950. Initially a successful sheep and cattle station, the property evolved under their innovative guidance to include diverse grape varieties. These varieties thrive at a 600-metre elevation, benefiting from the warmer conditions near Mount Canobolas, while still maintaining cool climate characteristics. This distinct positioning allows for the production of wines with finesse, elegance, and intense flavour profiles.
Angullong's Cellar Door, set in the historic village of Millthorpe, invites visitors to a memorable and intimate wine tasting experience. Open daily, the cellar door offers a chance to explore Angullong’s full range of award-winning wines, including exclusive Cellar Door only selections. Housed in a late 1800s bluestone building, once stables to an adjoining hotel, the setting enhances the tasting experience, melding history with the pleasure of wine discovery. Millthorpe, with its array of historic buildings, cafés, and boutique stores, adds to the charm of the visit.
You can expect the following from a tasting at Angullong:
Guests are welcomed to Angullong’s Cellar Door from 11 am to 5 pm, seven days a week (except on major public holidays). The guided tasting, available both indoors and outdoors, includes up to 10 wines of your choice, featuring the A series, Angullong 'Fossil Hill' series, and 'Crossing Reserve' wines.
Bookings are advised for groups of eight or less to ensure a personalised experience. For larger groups, outdoor booking options are available, showcasing Angullong’s commitment to providing an engaging and tailored wine tasting journey.
