Woodcarvers Haven is a truly distinctive destination in the Eden Valley, offering estate-grown wines alongside the artistry of traditional woodcraft. Vignerons Michael and Judith Mason produce small-batch Shiraz and Riesling from their vineyard, while also showcasing Michael’s work as a master woodcarver. The couple supplies grapes to respected Barossa winemakers, reserving a small parcel each year to craft their own single vineyard wines under the ‘Woodcarver’ label.
Located in the Barossa’s high country, the vineyard and cellar door are set on a scenic hillside amongst old gums, with a backdrop that reflects the natural charm of Eden Valley. Guests can expect handcrafted wines that speak of place, history, and personal dedication—alongside a collection of heirloom-quality rocking horses and carved timberworks that echo the same attention to detail and tradition.
Woodcarvers Haven offers a cellar door experience unlike any other in the region. Housed in a rustic timber building, the tasting space is surrounded by panoramic vineyard views and the couple’s working woodcarving studio. Guests are invited to enjoy a tasting of estate-grown Shiraz and Riesling while exploring beautifully crafted pieces, including individually numbered rocking horses and turned wooden objects.
Visitors can also request a woodturning demonstration, adding a hands-on element to the experience. The space is warm, welcoming and personal—blending craftsmanship, storytelling, and a deep sense of place.
You can expect the following from a tasting at Woodcarvers Havens:
