Max & Me is a small, family-owned wine label based in the Eden Valley, part of the larger Barossa region. Created by Sarah and Phil Lehmann, the label is inspired by their life together at Boongarrie Estate—an elevated and rugged property in the eastern Barossa Ranges. Their wines are made with a deep respect for the land, combining Phil’s second-generation winemaking heritage with Sarah’s artistic spirit and connection to the estate.
From estate-grown Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon to carefully sourced Riesling, Pinot Noir and Grenache, Max & Me wines are crafted with minimal intervention to reflect the region’s natural character. Each wine is made in small batches and tells a story of the season, soil and the people behind it, offering a fresh, lively and expressive interpretation of the Eden Valley’s high country.
Max & Me does not operate a traditional Cellar Door. Instead, visitors can enjoy a casual tasting experience at the historic Eden Valley Hotel, where a selection of Max & Me wines is available by the glass or bottle. The pub setting offers a laid-back and welcoming way to enjoy these boutique Eden Valley wines, often paired with a classic country meal.
For those seeking a deeper connection, tastings at Boongarrie Estate—home to the Max & Me vineyard—are reserved exclusively for wine club members. These private visits offer a rare opportunity to meet the family, explore the rugged estate, and experience the wines where they’re grown and made.
You can expect the following from a tasting at Max & Me:
Bookings are required for private tastings at Boongarrie Estate and are available to wine club members only. Guests must arrange their visit at least 48 hours in advance. For casual tastings, Max & Me wines can be enjoyed at the Eden Valley Hotel. Both experiences offer a warm welcome and a taste of small-batch winemaking from Eden Valley’s scenic highlands.
