Max & Me is a small, family-owned label made by Phil and Sarah Lehmann at Boongarrie Estate, their home in the Eden Valley. The vineyard sits at 430 to 460 metres on the northern slopes of Keynes Hill, on shallow, mineral-rich soils.
Phil grew up in a Barossa winemaking family and worked vintages in Napa, Burgundy and Stellenbosch before returning home. The original Shiraz and Cabernet blocks are now joined by newer plantings of Riesling, Grenache and Gamay, all made in small batches with minimal intervention, alongside olive oil from the grove next door.
Boongarrie Estate isn't a walk-in cellar door. The property takes in the vineyard, an olive grove and grazing land, with the wine shed sitting among the vines.
For casual tastings in the Barossa, visit New Wave Wines, a shared cellar door representing five small producers including Max & Me.

Private tastings are by appointment only. You'll hosted by Phil and Sarah at the estate, and taste the small-batch wines and estate olive oils with the people who make them.
