Walter Wines is a single vineyard winery situated in the picturesque region of Mudgee on the Central Tablelands of NSW. A great addition to any Mudgee wine tour, especially if you're looking for a spot of lunch.
Established in 1994 with the planting of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grape varieties, the vineyard expanded in 1996 with the addition of Shiraz and further Chardonnay vines. Over the years, other grape varieties have been cultivated as well.
The winemakers at Walter Wines craft a wide range of wines, including Riesling, Blanc de Blanc, and Chardonnay in the signature Mudgee style.
At the Tinja Lane tasting room, visitors can immerse themselves in the diverse flavours of Walter Wines' full range, guided by knowledgeable staff who will share tasting notes, explain the unique characteristics of each wine, and answer any questions about the winemaking process.
The Cellar Door boasts a cosy and inviting indoor environment, perfect for a leisurely tasting experience. If the weather allows for it, you can take your wine tasting outdoors, enjoy a picnic on the lawns or simply soak up the views over mudgee.
In addition, guests can indulge in a selection of local produce or order a cheeseboard from the winery's restaurant, which offers a range of pizzas for lunch.
