Trentham Estate, with a history richly interwoven with the Murphy family legacy, stands as a hallmark of viticultural excellence in the Murray Darling region. Established by the Murphy family, who migrated from Ireland in 1909, the estate has evolved from its early days in the 1930s as part of a large sheep station, 'Trentham Cliffs.' Over the years, the family has transformed the area into thriving horticultural and viticultural lands. The vineyards, flourishing on rich red loam over limestone soils nurtured by the Murray River, are home to some of the first Shiraz vines planted in the area, dating back to 1952. The first vintage of Trentham Estate was produced in 1984, using just 6 tonnes of grapes. Today, the estate boasts 45 hectares of vineyards of various ages and a state-of-the-art winemaking facility handling around 5,000 tonnes of premium varietal fruit each vintage.
