Borrodell Vineyard, a venerable presence in the Orange wine region, offers an enchanting wine tasting experience. Established in 1964, this vineyard stands proudly at over 1030 metres above sea level, making it one of Australia's highest. Its unique elevation and fertile basalt soils from the extinct volcano Mt. Canobolas contribute to the creation of distinct cool climate wines such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The winery's history is steeped in a transformation from a disused orchard to a vibrant wine and fruit tourism destination, under the stewardship of Borry and Gaye, who took over in the 1990s. The annual truffle season adds another layer to their rich agricultural narrative.
Visitors can explore a range of wines, including Gewürztraminer, Pinot Meunier, and Sparkling Wine. The SkyBar at the top of the vineyard provides a space to sip these award-winning wines while taking in the panoramic views of Towac Valley. Borrodell also prides itself on its sustainable and conservation practices, including a collection of heritage fruit trees and the oldest Black Perigord truffle trees on mainland Australia.
The Borrodell Vineyard Cellar Door, known as SkyBar, merges the concepts of a wine bar and cellar door. It's a place where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of the Orange wine region. The cellar door experience is enhanced by the option to relax inside, outside on the terrace, or on the lawn, enjoying a selection of wines.
The panoramic views, coupled with the opportunity to taste their full wine range, make for an unforgettable experience. Sister’s Rock Restaurant nearby offers a culinary journey with organic and locally sourced dishes, including produce from the estate's own Chef’s Garden. The entire experience is framed by the backdrop of the vineyard's scenic beauty and the tranquility of its orchard.

At Borrodell Vineyard, guests are advised to book in advance for Wine tastings. Guests can choose from a curated set of 6 wines for $20 or select 3 wines of their choice for $12. For a more intimate experience, the vineyard offers VIP private tastings, including a cheese platter for members and their friends, by appointment.
