Anderson Hill is a family-owned winery in Adelaide Hills, producing premium cool-climate wines from their high-altitude Lenswood vineyard. Established in 1994, the vineyard sits at approximately 600 metres above sea level, one of the highest in South Australia, allowing for slow ripening and exceptional fruit purity. The focus is on classic varieties including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, along with Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz.
With a commitment to sustainable viticulture, all grapes are hand-pruned and hand-picked, ensuring premium quality and minimal intervention in the winery. Anderson Hill's wine portfolio is divided into three ranges: the vibrant and fruit-forward A Series, the site-driven O Series, and the limited-production Reserve Series, crafted from the best barrels of each vintage. The wines reflect the vineyard’s unique terroir, balancing elegance and complexity.
The Anderson Hill cellar door offers a relaxed and welcoming environment to enjoy a wine tasting experience, accompanied by stunning views over the Adelaide Hills. Guests can choose from a Signature Tasting, featuring six wines, or a Trilogy Tasting, which provides a deeper dive into Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz, paired with a local cheese plate.
For those looking to stay longer, the on-site restaurant serves wood-fired pizzas on weekends, along with cheese boards available daily. With indoor and outdoor seating, visitors can soak up the fresh mountain air while enjoying award-winning wines and locally sourced produce. Bookings are recommended, especially for weekends.
You can expect the following from a tasting at Anderson Hill:
Bookings are essential for all tastings and recommended for dining, particularly on weekends. The cellar door welcomes groups of up to 10 guests for tastings and up to 20 for dining, with larger private functions available by arrangement. A pre-authorisation fee applies to secure bookings, and surcharges apply on Sundays and public holidays. Due to the presence of resident dogs, Anderson Hill does not allow visiting pets on-site.
