Seabrook Wines is a family-owned winery in the Barossa Valley, with a history spanning over 140 years. Originally established as a wine merchant business in 1878, the Seabrook name has evolved into a vigneron brand under the stewardship of Hamish and Jo Seabrook. Their 20-acre vineyard, located at the base of the Barossa’s eastern foothills, is managed with a hands-on approach, reflecting a deep commitment to the land and past generations. Hamish, a fifth-generation Seabrook, crafts small-batch wines that highlight the vineyard’s terroir, ensuring each wine is true to varietal, vineyard, and vintage.
The winery produces a range of single-vineyard wines that showcase the unique characteristics of the site. With an emphasis on minimal intervention winemaking, Hamish allows the fruit to express itself, creating wines with structure, balance, and a clear sense of place. The ‘Generations’ collection pays tribute to the family’s history in the wine trade, while the ‘Lineage’ label represents the continuing legacy of the Seabrook family in the Australian wine industry.
Seabrook Wines welcomes visitors to its Tasting Room, set in an original Barossa settler’s cottage overlooking the estate vineyard. The intimate and relaxed space offers a personalised tasting experience, often hosted by winemaker Hamish himself. Guests can enjoy a flight of small-batch wines, either inside the cosy cottage or out on the deck, taking in picturesque views of the vineyard and Barossa landscape.
In addition to wine tastings, the Tasting Room offers regional produce platters, allowing guests to pair their wines with locally sourced cheeses and meats. The setting encourages visitors to take their time, with comfortable indoor seating and outdoor areas to soak up the Barossa’s natural beauty.
