Prancing Horse Estate is a biodynamic and organic vineyard in Red Hill South on the Mornington Peninsula, producing premium cool-climate wines. Established in 1985, the estate is dedicated to sustainable viticulture, with a focus on minimal intervention winemaking. The vineyard is home to Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, crafted with a commitment to showcasing the region’s unique terroir.
The estate produces three wine ranges: The Pony, made from younger vines for a more fruit-forward style; The Estate, crafted from the oldest vines with meticulous attention to detail; and The Reserve, produced in exceptional vintages. Prancing Horse Estate also imports fine Burgundy and Chablis wines, reinforcing its strong connection to French winemaking. By employing biodynamic farming principles, the estate nurtures its soils and vines, ensuring expressive wines that reflect the character of the Mornington Peninsula.
The Cellar Door at Prancing Horse Estate provides a personalised tasting experience in a small, intimate setting. Visitors can explore the full range of estate wines, including occasional back vintages, while enjoying scenic views of the vineyard and surrounding landscape. Tastings are guided and offer insight into the estate’s commitment to organic and biodynamic farming.
The experience includes a curated selection of wines from The Pony, Estate, and Reserve ranges, paired with European cheeses and crusty bread. Guests can also discover a selection of imported Burgundy and Chablis wines. The relaxed setting ensures an engaging and informative tasting, highlighting both the estate’s wines and its connection to sustainable viticulture.
