Grandis Wines is Shannon Burgess-Moore's lo-fi winemaking project, where he explores minimal intervention techniques and pushes the boundaries of wine styles in the Hunter Valley. Shannon, who also works as a winemaker for De Iuliis, is the son of Ian and Debra Burgess-Moore of Moorebank Wines, continuing his family’s legacy while carving his own path in innovative winemaking.
Under the Grandis label, Shannon crafts a diverse range of wines that reflect his experimental approach. Standout offerings include his Pet Nat made with a blend of Pinot Gris, Semillon, and Merlot, and the Hunter Valley-exclusive Garganega, known for its green apple and citrus characteristics. The range also features an infused Montepulciano with ginseng, as well as Rosé and Nebbiolo, showcasing Shannon’s passion for alternative varieties and innovative techniques.
All tastings for Grandis are conducted at the families Moorebank Cellar Door, where guests can immerse themselves in world of both Grandis and Moorebank Wines, as well as homemade condiments.
