Established in 1998, First Ridge is a boutique winery located in the Mudgee region, known for its Italian-style wines. Led by winemaker James Manners, First Ridge produces varietals such as Rosé, Sparkling Rosé, Fiano, Montepulciano, and Barbera. The vineyard, situated on rocky ridges over 500 metres above sea level, benefits from ideal conditions for growing these Italian varietals while offering stunning views of the Cudgegong Valley.
The tasting room at First Ridge, located on Burrundulla Road, features a modern design created from two repurposed shipping containers. This unique, open-plan space allows visitors to enjoy premium wine tastings while taking in panoramic views of the vineyard and valley. Outdoor tastings are also available, offering an immersive experience. Led by Cellar Door Manager Graeme Salt, guests can expect a welcoming and informative introduction to First Ridge’s range of wines.

Bookings are recommended for tastings, especially for larger groups arriving by bus, to ensure availability and a smooth experience.
