Established in 1998, First Ridge is a boutique winery in the Mudgee region, specializing in Italian-style wines. Under the guidance of winemaker James Manners, the winery produces varietals such as Rosé, Sparkling Rosé, Fiano, Montepulciano, and Barbera. Situated on rocky ridges over 500 meters above sea level, the vineyard benefits from ideal growing conditions and provides sweeping views of the Cudgegong Valley.
The tasting room at First Ridge, located on Burrundulla Road, features a contemporary design crafted from two repurposed shipping containers. This open-plan space allows visitors to enjoy wine tastings with panoramic views of the vineyard and valley. Outdoor tastings are also available, offering a relaxed and immersive experience. Led by Cellar Door Manager Graeme Salt, guests can expect a welcoming and informative introduction to First Ridge’s range of wines.
