Fermoy Estate, located in the prestigious Wilyabrup subregion of Margaret River, Western Australia, is a premium winery known for its exceptional quality wines. Established in 1985 by John and Beryl Anderson and later acquired by Dutch/Swiss businessman Hans Hulsbergen in 1999, the estate was eventually purchased by Perth brothers Aaron and John Young in 2010. Fermoy Estate's dedication to producing distinctive table wines is evident in their meticulous vineyard management and winemaking practices. The vineyard thrives in rich, loamy soils, benefiting from the perfect temperatures of the 'golden triangle' of Margaret River, primarily growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Shiraz.
The winery's proximity to its vineyards ensures the quick processing of grapes, preserving their premium qualities. With a production capacity of 350 tonnes of grapes each year, Fermoy is committed to integrating new ideas and technologies while maintaining environmental sustainability. This ethos is reflected in the wines crafted by their talented winemaking team, previously led by Liz Dawson and Coralie Garnier-Lewis, and now under the guidance of Jeremy Hodgson since 2015. Hodgson's extensive experience across various Western Australian wineries has furthered Fermoy's mission to produce some of the region's finest wines.
The Fermoy Estate Cellar Door, set against the backdrop of their beautiful vineyard on Metricup Road, offers visitors a chance to taste a selection of their award-winning wines.
