Evans & Tate is one of Margaret River's pioneering wineries, with a history dating back to 1971. Originally planted in the Swan Valley, the winery later expanded to Wilyabrup, where the iconic Redbrook vineyard was established. The release of Evans & Tate Margaret River Classic in 1987 cemented its place as a household name, and today, it remains one of the region’s best-selling wines.
Now part of the Fogarty Wine Group, Evans & Tate continues to craft wines that reflect the purity and elegance of the Margaret River terroir. The winemaking team, led by Senior Winemaker Matt Byrne, focuses on site selection, vineyard management, and minimal intervention winemaking to produce consistently high-quality wines. Their portfolio includes the award-winning Redbrook Reserve range, celebrated for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
The Evans & Tate cellar door is set in a picturesque location at the corner of Metricup and Caves Roads. Visitors can enjoy a guided tasting of the winery’s acclaimed wines, from crisp Chardonnays to bold Cabernet Sauvignons, in a relaxed and welcoming setting. The tasting room offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with sweeping views of the vineyard.
Guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grounds with a glass of wine, or they can pre-order a gourmet grazing platter through a local partner. Knowledgeable staff are on hand to guide visitors through the winery’s history and wine styles, ensuring an engaging experience for all wine lovers.

Bookings are recommended for all tasting experiences, especially for larger groups. A tasting fee applies for group bookings, which is refundable upon wine purchases. Guests can also arrange for a gourmet platter to accompany their tasting. The cellar door operates throughout the week, with variations on public holidays.
