Woody Nook Wines is a boutique winery in Margaret River, known for its rich, full-bodied reds and crisp, refreshing whites. Established in 1978 by Jeff and Wynn Gallagher, the vineyard was planted on land once home to a sawmill, with the first vintage produced in 1987. Today, the estate is owned by Peter and Jane Bailey, who continue to uphold the winery’s reputation for handcrafted, small-batch wines made from non-irrigated, handpicked fruit.
With 17 hectares under vine, Woody Nook cultivates a diverse range of varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Chardonnay, and two Spanish varieties, Tempranillo and Graciano. The winery remains dedicated to traditional, sustainable viticulture, producing wines that reflect the distinct character of Wilyabrup’s terroir.
The Woody Nook Wines cellar door offers a welcoming and intimate tasting experience, where knowledgeable staff guide visitors through a selection of award-winning wines. Guests can enjoy a relaxed setting surrounded by jarrah and marri forest, with the option to explore the gift shop and gallery, which features locally sourced artisan products.
Visitors can also enhance their tasting experience with a selection of locally inspired food from the estate’s café.
