Varney Wines, based in McLaren Vale, began as a passion project for winemaker Alan Varney. Since its launch in 2019, the winery has grown into a celebrated family-run label, producing wines from premium vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. With an environmentally sensitive winery and a charming tasting room housed in a renovated 1870s limestone barn, Varney Wines combines history, sustainability, and innovation.
Alan’s winemaking approach embraces traditional techniques alongside modern insights, allowing the fruit to guide the process. utilising methods such as wild yeast fermentation, whole-bunch inclusion, and extended time on skins, the resulting wines showcase balance, depth, and complexity.
