Rojomoma is a small, family-run winery in the Barossa Valley, producing wines that stay true to their single-vineyard origins. Owners Sam Kurtz and Bernadette Kaeding manage the entire process from vine to bottle, working with a 5-hectare vineyard in the Ebenezer sub-region. The site is home to dry-grown Grenache vines planted in 1886, alongside Shiraz, Tempranillo, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Every step of production is carefully managed, from hand pruning and picking to traditional winemaking techniques such as open fermentation and basket pressing.
The winery’s Red Art and Wild Scarlet wines showcase the region’s rich winemaking heritage while maintaining a focus on small-batch, artisan production. Rojomoma has received multiple awards, including the Best Small Producer trophy at the Barossa Wine Show. By combining traditional and modern approaches, they create wines that express the characteristics of the vineyard and the unique terroir of the Barossa Valley.
Wine tastings at Rojomoma take place inside the working winery, offering a relaxed and informal setting. Visitors can sample a selection of current and cellar release wines, surrounded by barrels and the winery’s original basket press. Tastings are personally hosted by the owners, making for an engaging and insightful experience.
Bernadette’s photography and artwork are also displayed throughout the winery, adding a creative element to the visit. With a strong focus on small-scale production, Rojomoma provides a personal and welcoming space to explore their wines.
