Primo Estate, located in McLaren Vale, is a family-owned winery established in 1973 by Primo Grilli, who immigrated to South Australia from Italy. Combining traditional Italian techniques with modern Australian innovation, Primo Estate has gained a reputation for producing exceptional wines and olive oils. The winery was built in 1979 under the guidance of Joe Grilli, Primo’s eldest son and a graduate of the prestigious Roseworthy winemaking course.
Today, the Grilli family continues to push boundaries with their approach to winemaking, embracing techniques such as Amarone-style processing and cultivating Italian varietals. Their vineyards in McLaren Vale produce a diverse range of wines that reflect the family’s commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation.
