Phaedrus Estate has been crafting wines on the Mornington Peninsula since 1998, with owners Ewan Campbell and Maïtèna Zantvoort dedicated to making wines that reflect the region’s character. With more than 25 vintages behind them, they continue to focus on creating wines with personality, producing a diverse range including Sparkling, Fiano, Pinot Gris, Fumé Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz. Each wine is made with a balance of tradition and innovation, showcasing the vineyard’s cool-climate influence.
The estate’s approach to winemaking prioritises expressive, full-flavoured wines that remain true to their varietal characteristics. By combining careful vineyard management with small-batch production, Phaedrus Estate offers a selection of wines that highlight the strengths of the Mornington Peninsula. The Cellar Door at Phaedrus Estate offers a casual and inviting space for visitors to enjoy wine tastings. Guests can sample a selection of estate wines while learning about the winemaking process from the team behind the label. The relaxed atmosphere extends outdoors, where visitors can enjoy a glass of wine in the vineyard setting.
Alongside tastings, the Cellar Door serves a cheese platter featuring local and international selections, paired with a variety of wines by the glass or bottle. While not a restaurant, the winery provides a comfortable and friendly environment to explore its wines, with a focus on creating an enjoyable and unpretentious experience.
You can expect the following from a tasting at Phaedrus:
Bookings are not required for wine tastings, though group sizes are limited to six people. Visitors can enjoy a tasting flight or a glass of wine alongside a cheese platter. Dogs are welcome in outdoor areas on a lead. While bus groups and commercial tours are not accommodated, smaller groups are encouraged to visit and experience the relaxed Cellar Door setting.
