Main Ridge Estate is a historic winery on the Mornington Peninsula, renowned for producing premium estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Established in 1975 by Nat and Rosalie White, the winery set the benchmark for cool-climate wines in the region. Now under the stewardship of the Sexton family, the estate continues its commitment to quality, with winemaker James Sexton carefully crafting elegant, terroir-driven wines that reflect the ancient volcanic soils and coastal influences of Red Hill.
In addition to their own vineyard, Main Ridge Estate collaborates with neighbouring growers, producing a diverse range of single-vineyard wines that showcase the unique microclimates of Main Ridge. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and minimal intervention, the wines maintain their regional identity while offering a rich depth of flavour and structure.
The cellar door at Main Ridge Estate is set within a working winery, providing guests with tranquil views over the vineyards and surrounding bushland. Visitors can enjoy seated wine tastings, featuring a selection of estate-grown wines, with a focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The relaxed atmosphere extends to the sundeck, where guests can unwind with a glass of wine while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
The estate also offers a dining experience with shared plates designed to complement their wines. Lunch consists of seasonal, generous dishes, while a more casual "Sundowner" menu is available for late afternoon snacks and drinks. Whether seated by the fireplace in winter or on the sundeck in summer, Main Ridge Estate provides a welcoming and intimate setting for wine lovers.
