Located in the Hunter Valley, Hanging Tree Wines has been producing quality wines since 2003. With over a decade of experience, winemakers Liz Jackson, Gary McLean, and Gary Read have developed a reputation for crafting classic Australian wines. Known for their Semillon and Shiraz, Hanging Tree Wines also offers popular sparkling and fortified options, appealing to a wide range of wine enthusiasts.
The cellar door is housed in a charming old cow-shed, offering tastings of a diverse range of wines, including sparkling, white, red, sweet, and fortified wines, all sourced from their 40-acre estate. Visitors can also sample olive oils, tapenades, and olives made from the estate’s olive trees.
The property features attractions such as the Blacksmith's Cottage, Horse-Whispering Lodge, a duck pond, and a French parterre rose garden. Outdoor activities include a giant chessboard, and guests can enjoy the company of three friendly Labradors—Vodka, Muscat, and Bundy. The relaxed atmosphere, coupled with picnic and BBQ options and local cheese platters, makes Hanging Tree Wines a welcoming destination for families and pet owners.
