Dominique Portet is a family-owned winery in Yarra Valley, founded in 2000 by ninth-generation winemaker Dominique Portet. Drawing from his Bordeaux heritage, Dominique sought out the cool-climate vineyards of Coldstream to craft wines with French-inspired elegance and balance. Today, the winery continues under the guidance of his son, Ben Portet, blending tradition with modern Australian winemaking.
The portfolio features classic Yarra Valley varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, alongside refined sparkling wines. With a focus on terroir-driven winemaking, the range spans everyday drinking styles to premium single-vineyard expressions, each reflecting the estate’s meticulous approach.
Set among rolling vineyards, the Dominique Portet cellar door offers a welcoming space to explore wines crafted with a French sensibility. Guests can enjoy a guided tasting of five wines, either in the main cellar door or in a private room overlooking the working winery. For a more immersive experience, an estate tour and tasting provides insight into ten generations of winemaking tradition.
