Sabella, a family-owned winery in McLaren Vale, is rooted in the traditions of Italian farming and winemaking. Established by Giuseppe (Joe) Petrucci and his family in 1976, Sabella began as a vineyard supplying grapes to other wineries. In 1999, the family launched their own label, Sabella, named after a pseudonym associated with their heritage. Today, their 44 hectares of vineyards produce a range of wines, from classic Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon to Italian varietals like Nero d’Avola and Colorino.
The winery has received significant accolades, including the prestigious George Mackey Award in 2009 for their 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon. Sabella’s wines reflect the family’s dedication to combining traditional practices with McLaren Vale’s unique terroir, crafting wines that are enjoyed both locally and internationally.
