Malcolm Creek Vineyard is located in the northern part of the Adelaide Hills, between Chain of Ponds and Williamstown. Established over 35 years ago by third-generation winemaker Reg Tolley, the vineyard produces premium single-variety wines from carefully tended vines. The estate-grown Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon benefit from slow ripening due to the region’s altitude, ensuring depth and balance in each vintage.
The wines are crafted with a focus on simplicity and quality, using only handpicked grapes and traditional production methods. Maturation takes place in French oak barrels before release, with wines typically aged for two to five years before becoming available at the cellar door and select restaurants. Additional varieties, sourced from premium Adelaide Hills vineyards, complement the estate-grown range.
The Malcolm Creek Vineyard cellar door offers a welcoming and relaxed tasting experience, set against the backdrop of rolling hills and well-kept gardens. Guests can sample medal-winning wines while enjoying the peaceful surroundings, with the option to take a stroll through the gardens or bring a picnic to extend their visit.
Wine tastings include current vintage releases, with themed experiences available for those looking to delve deeper into the winemaking process. Visitors can choose from a guided tasting of the full Malcolm Creek range, including sparkling, white, and red wines, or a vertical tasting of four vintages of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. Light plates of homemade bread and dips accompany the tastings, making for an immersive and educational experience.
