Lyrebird Ridge Organic Winery and Retreat is a small organic winery situated on 40 acres of pristine bush land, nestled between Kangaroo Valley and Nowra on the Shoalhaven Coast. Established in 1994, the winery primarily focuses on the Chambourcin varietal, with all grapes being organically grown, hand-picked, and basket pressed without added preservatives. Lyrebird Ridge is not just a winery but a retreat, offering guests a chance to disconnect from technology and unwind in a serene environment. The property is pet-friendly, welcoming visitors to bring their pets along and enjoy the companionship of the resident dogs, Molly and Rosie May. The Cellar Door at Lyrebird Ridge offers a unique wine tasting experience, open on Fridays from 1 pm to 5 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm. Guests can enjoy wine tastings for $5 per person and have the option to complement their tasting with cheese plates, either individual or shared, at $15 per person. The winery accommodates both hosted and non-hosted bookings, providing flexibility for guests. On fine days, ample outdoor seating is available to savor wine and cheese plates amidst the natural beauty of the estate, while the cosy indoor cellar offers a more intimate setting. Visitors can also browse a selection of locally made products and handmade items from the property at the cellar door.

This 45-minute tasting includes a selection of available wines and fortified wines, a chance to browse local produce at the cellar door, and an opportunity to converse with the owner. Guests can also opt for a cheese plate and enjoy a leisurely walk around the property, taking in the natural bush setting. For returning guests or those familiar with Lyrebird Ridge, non-hosted visits are available, offering a chance to relax in the grounds with a bottle of wine and a cheese picnic, perfect for a tranquil day out.
