Ivanhoe Wines is a classic winery located in the heart the Hunter Valley. With a rich history dating back to 1995, Ivanhoe Wines is a well-established winery in the Hunter Valley region, known for its high-quality wines and exceptional winemaking expertise.
Stephen Drayton and Gary Reed, the winemakers at Ivanhoe, are skilled artisans who are dedicated to producing a diverse range of wines in the traditional Hunter Valley style.
Their vineyards are home to a variety of grape varieties, including Shiraz, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Verdelho, Chambourcin, and Gewurtztraminer. Many of the vines at Ivanhoe are over fifty years old, which results in low yields but fruit with rich colors, good tannins, and intense flavors that are distinct to the Hunter region.
Ivanhoe Estate invites visitors to come to their cellar door, located on Marrowbone Road, and sample their full range of wines. The tasting room is a modern-day replica of the Ivanhoe Homestead built in the 1800s and is surrounded by breathtaking views of the Hunter Valley. Visitors are welcome to relax on the verandah and enjoy the scenic views of the Brokenback Range as the sun sets, while sampling Ivanhoe's premium wines.
