House of Arras has redefined Australian sparkling wine, crafting some of the country’s most awarded wines from select vineyards across Tasmania. Established in 1995 by Ed Carr, House of Arras was born from a vision to create world-class sparkling wines using the cool-climate terroirs of Tasmania. The pristine conditions of the island’s diverse regions, combined with meticulous winemaking and extensive ageing on lees, have resulted in a distinctive and refined style that rivals the best in the world.
Made exclusively from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, House of Arras wines are produced using the traditional Méthode Champenoise, with extended time en tirage to develop depth, complexity, and elegance. With over 140 trophies and 370 gold medals, House of Arras has cemented its reputation as Australia’s premier sparkling wine producer.
The House of Arras cellar door is located along the banks of Pipers River, offering a scenic and immersive tasting experience. Guests can enjoy a seated tasting while exploring Tasmania’s sparkling wine terroir, guided by the expert team. The property features boardwalks through native woodlands, where visitors may spot local wildlife, including the resident platypus.
A range of tasting experiences is available, including the ‘Sparkling Scholar’ masterclass, where guests can delve into the winemaking philosophy and taste across the portfolio, including vintage and non-vintage releases. For those looking to enjoy the setting, the ‘Wine, Wildlife & Vineyard Walk’ allows guests to savour a glass of sparkling while strolling through the vineyard at sunset.
