Kirrihill is a boutique winery in Clare Valley, specialising in Riesling, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with select red varietals that showcase the region’s distinctive terroir. Established in 1998, the winery is built on a commitment to sustainable viticulture and producing wines of elegance and depth. With estate vineyards spanning the renowned Schobers Vineyard and Slate Creek Vineyard, Kirrihill’s wines reflect the diversity of Clare Valley’s micro-climates, particularly through their highly regarded Rieslings.
Schobers Vineyard, located on a stretch of rare terra rossa soil, is recognised for its exceptional Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, producing wines with richness and complexity. Slate Creek Vineyard, in the premium sub-region of Watervale, is dedicated to Riesling, benefiting from limestone-rich soils and dry-grown vines that enhance the variety’s purity and intensity. With a strong focus on both traditional and modern winemaking techniques, Kirrihill has garnered over 500 domestic and international awards since its first vintage in 2000.
While Kirrihill does not currently operate a traditional cellar door, the winery offers an exclusive experience for true wine enthusiasts. Guests can take part in a bespoke winery tour, providing an in-depth look at the winemaking process and a masterclass on Clare Valley Riesling and Shiraz. The experience includes a vertical Riesling tasting, showcasing how the variety matures over time, alongside a selection of award-winning reds, including their highly acclaimed Partner Series Shiraz.
Set within a working winery, the tour allows visitors to gain insight into production winemaking, offering a rare and immersive look at the craft behind Kirrihill’s wines. This tailored experience is designed to provide a deeper connection to the region’s winemaking heritage.
